We have decided to temporarily stop processing anymore software requests. This is because of several factors; concerns with copyrighted software from RM, and Adobe, Macromedia etc., being viewed by outsiders as simply giving away quite rare RM software and that being the only reason for them joining, along with members requesting for far too many items, in some cases almost the entire list. The software catalogue can still be viewed, but no requests will be accepted except from users with the 'Expert' rank.

RM User Group does not want to risk any legal issues with RM especially, because their trust is so vital. Additionally, we as a community would like to reinforce that we are aiming to share as much as we can, but we cannot do this at the risk of legal issues due to the nature of the public community.

We cannot say for sure, but we are hoping to be in contact with RM as to what we are able to share and to explain the process that's undertaken to verify users for requests. We are going to introduce a new verification system for software requests, gaining an insight as to why the piece(s) of software's being requested, and also some basic information about the member - employment in education, general interest in the area etc.
