RM User Group is a community of RM enthusiasts run by a group of volunteers across the UK who preserve and archive Hardware and Software from Research Machines plc.
We work very closely with The National Museum of Computing, which is home to the world’s largest collection of working historic computers. Some of the artifacts we support at the museum is the Classroom Gallery which contains a range of computers from Research Machines plc ranging from RM Nimbus to Community Connect 3.
RM User Group's existence as an RM community is the culmination of all historic RM software related communities. Past forums and groups have merged, changed, and evolved over the years to reach the point we are now. We have many members with great expertise in different RM and general Microsoft categories; CC3, CC4, Net LM, RM Connect, RM Net and earlier.
Our vast collection of RM software has been possible thanks to the many contributions from our members, and we would appreciate any software, documentation or knowledge that is donated! For more information about how you can contribute, visit our Donations page. RM User Group as an online community was founded in 2018, our Facebook page in 2015, and a magazine in the late eighties!
All digital files, physical media and software remain the sole property of RM Plc (Research Machines plc.). RM User Group have been granted special permission from RM Plc to preserve and use this software for archive purposes only, and any software donated to RM User Group will not be released outside of the organisation RM User Group. RM User Group follows all policies in accordance with the Computer Misuse Act 1990, and Data Protection Act 2018.
